Apple and Cinnamon Flapjacks!

Yo Guys... So LONG time no see. My apologies for not posting for a long while but as you may know i have been incredibly busy with work and have had no chance to get my laptop out to write. (Being a chef at a Michelin starred restaurant is hard work you know!) But I'm back now to give you a few drink and snack ideas for this autumn season. My absolute favourite season of all. We get so see the amazing colours from leaves and the freshness of the crisp morning too. As well as the obvious wrapping in warm clothes and get the fire going. Absolutely amazing.



For these flapjacks that I'm going to show you is my wonderfully different. These naughty treats go down so fast it's unbelievable.

To make these wonderful treats you will need:

· 120g of unsalted butter (plus extra for greasing) - the ones that come as a block not margarine

· 75g of white sugar

· 3 tbsp of golden syrup

· 260g of rolled oats with no additives.

· 1 1/4 tsp of ground cinnamon

· 2 apples - I prefer Granny Smiths

1 Preheat your oven to 180˚C (160˚c fan gas mark 4.) Grease and line a 20x20 cm square tin with butter and greaseproof paper.

2 Place your butter, sugar and syrup into a heavy bottom pan and heat gently until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved.

3 Dice or grate your apples and mix with the oats and then pour in the buttery sugar mixture and mix well. Once mixed well together place into the prepared tin and press out with a spoon dipped in boiling water. Bake for 30 – 35 mins or until lightly golden on top.

4 once out of the oven, allow to cool for 10 minutes before cutting into squares or rectangles. And finally allow to cool further before enjoying these absolutely delicious treat.
